It pisses me off that not only did Edwards have an affair, but that he is stupid enough to do it while on the campaign trail. Did he think no one would find out? What if he had gotten the Democratic nomination? How much money, and resources, and other people’s time and energy would he have wasted?

According to Elizabeth Edwards, John confessed to her in 2006... BEFORE she was diagnosed with cancer.
There was no reason to cheat on her before she caught that STD.

Too true! If you are going to cheat on someone you should have a good excuse; like "she's healthy." Let it be said that cheating on a cancer infected wife is always bad form. Good thing Edwards didn't wait until her positive diagnosis.

at least he didn't make his wife stand by his side as he confessed his sins to the world. that just shows what a "man" he is. plus his wife hadn't been diagnosed with cancer yet when he began his little tryst. so really i don't see what the big deal is. it seems like he was completely thinking about his wife through this entire thing.
