Cause and Effect

Is it just me or does anyone else find Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s comments less an invective of hate than those of pastor John Hagee? But, riddle me this, why does Obama have to distance himself from his pastor while John McCain actively pursued and now revels in the endorsement of the racist, sexist, homophobic, Zionist. Oh yeah… Obama and Wright are dangerous black men while McCain and Hagee are just old, fun loving, white guys.

To be fair, I haven't heard all the things Rev. Wright said (quite frankly 90% of what pastors espouse from the pulpit offends me) but what I have read and heard rings a lot more true than Hagee's comments on homosexuality, like: "I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans."

I continue to wonder, as I always do, what all those people in Kansas trailer parks must have done to incur god's judgment so much that he had to level them with tornadoes.
