In the News:

-Senator John Ensign (R. NV) admitted to having an affair with a married staffer from 2007 to 20008. Esign is married and has three children. He and his wife, Darlene, were active participants and promoters of "Promise Keepers", a Christian evangelical ministry that promotes strong families and marriages.
Ensign took a two-week leave of absence from the Senate back in 2002 to deal with the fallout from another extramarital affair and is rumored to have been caught by his wife a third time as well.

-Gov. Mark Sanford (R. SC) said Wednesday (June 24) he had been "unfaithful to my wife" during a secret trip to Argentina.

-Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged in an interview (March 08, 2007) with a conservative Christian group that he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair.
