Irish Luck for a Swede

Wow! has it really been that long since my last post? Sheesh! Ok, here is a quick catch up of today's events;

Some stupid ass girl stole my phone. How do I know she is a stupid ass, or how do I know she is a girl? Well I guess the fact that she sent over 180 text messages in the 2 hours it took me to report that the phone was stolen was a partial clue (although in all fairness my nephew's fingers fly almost that fast). The kicker, however, was the pictures she took of herself with my phone and uploaded to my t-mobile account by accident, ooops! Dumbass! So, now, not only do I have her picture I also have copies of the text messages and the phone numbers she sent them to. You gotta be a pretty big moron to try and pull that one off. I just wished I had gotten a phone with the GPS option. It would have been cool to send the cops directly to her front door. Oh well, vengeance is sweet if not prompt.

On a side note to this whole thing I have to say that the guy at Wal-Mart was super cool. Normally I try to avoid the Big W but it was the only authorized T-mobile dealer in the area so. . . The kid I spoke with at T-mobile on line said the stores usually charge between 20-30 bucks for a new SIM card (I still have an old phone but just needed a new SIM card so I would have a working phone again). When I got to Wally word the older guy behind the counter tossed me a new SIM card and said, "ah hell, you just had your phone stolen and this one was an extra anyway, don't worry about it."

No kidding!

I guess I needed to be reminded that there really is a balance to the universe, with the bad comes some good.

Mending Wall

I saw a headline today saying that GeeDub is "fence mending" after the elections this week.

This administration gets their collective ass handed to them and /Now/ they want to mend fences? Isn't it just good practice to maintain your fence before it falls to pieces? They have been the worse kind of bullies for the last 6 years, lying, cheating, stealing, misappropriating funds; the list goes on and on. But, they only see the light after a staggering defeat. Time and time again they have fired, or bullied out of office, anyone that opposed them or offered a word of thoughtful advice; witness Powell, Shinseki, Tenet and Pavitt. None of those guys are what anyone could classify as liberal either. The smarmy bunch of bastards in control of this here U.S. of A. are more than willing to call themselves "uniters" while they are kicking you in the teeth but when you stand up to them, suddenly they want to fix the fence and turn into a good neighbor. I hope nobody has the poor sense to believe them.

Do you think Horowiz still believes any of the things he said, back in '99, about the great "uniter"?

Do As I Say, Not As I Do

Another one bites the. . . well he was biting something he shouldn't have.

I'm not sure what to make of this one, but Ted Haggard resigned even though he says he is innocent. If you are a die hard Republican it is vitally important that, in the face of accusations, you stand firm. You DO NOT step down from your position and you never back away. Sure, you may have your hand in the cookie jar but you should always say, "nope not me, must be someone else's hand you are seeing." To that regard Haggard is off to good start, but why is he stepping down? Delay, Hastert, Ney, Foley, Santorum, Geedub/Cheney/ et al, Buchanan, Robertson, Frist, Abramoff, (I'll stop before the list takes up several pages). The point is that all of the aforementioned have been caught in blatant lies, scandals, etc and then passed the buck on to someone else.


What does it mean when the pastor of six flags under Jesus (AKA, New Life Church), just down the road from here, resigns all of his positions (so to speak) because it is merely "alleged" that he was off (so to speak) with a hot young tweak.

Jimmy Swaggart never resigned. Jim Baker never resigned. How many Catholic priests have resigned? So again, I am not sure what to make of this one. Either he is really, Really, REALLY guilty or, what?

You Just Offended the Rich Ruling Class, Now What?

What Kerry said was true, and you'd have to be a rich, out of touch, elite to argue with it. As a former member of the US Army I can tell you first hand you don't get the privileged or the well educated joining the services. Why do you think the rich voted to stop the draft? It wasn't because it was a bad idea (although it is) it was because they could get out of military service and their precious little idiot sons could go get drunk and stoned on National Guard time.

The soldiers in the US military aren't dumb, but they are there because they don't have a future working for their daddies' oil companies or a college trust fund set up in their name. GeeDub and the majority of his republican cronies never served in the military. He hasn't got a clue what the men and women he is sending off to get killed in a fruitless war look like because he has never interacted with the soldier on anything more than a "hi I'm your commander and chief, you WILL love me," level.

The only people "offended" by the Kerry remark are the ones that have never been in the military and are all too happy to say Michael J Fox is faking it for publicity. It is good to know that they would never try to get publicity. If they want to get offended by something maybe it should be the amount of education assistance they offer to students these days or the fact that the US legislature is raising the interest rates on student loans every year and cutting the taxes for the rich. Maybe they should be getting offended that they (the rich elite) put holds on soldiers' ability to finish their military contract and force them to remain in Iraq to get killed. How about getting offended by the amount of poor people that can't get ahead or...Hell I don't know; what about a billion other things that are important in the world?
