I for one am happy for the "bipartisan" economic stimulus package. There is nothing our country could use more than the tax break that will help funnel money into our economy and help bolster the foreign trade. With each dollar the American people gets back they will doubtless spend it to buy things from my country.
China is a great and strong country. We are proud that Mr. Bush and the Mr.'s and Mrs.'s in the US of A congress have decided to help us. Thank you Americans!
Sincerely
Mr. Xie Xuren
Minister of Finance, China

Polishing Turds
I loathe legacies. British royalty or American royalty it is all the same; some undeserving clown riding the coattails of their predecessor without any real validity to their position. To me it doesn't matter if it is the Bush family, the Romney family, or the Clintons.
Sure we knew the Clintons we a marriage of convenience to consolidate power but the transparency of the family ambition lately is just icky.
So my 2 cents?
Hey, Bill Clinton shut your fat trap and let your wife dig the democrats' grave by herself!

Pot and Kettles
The Reuters headline - Bush says Iran threat to world security.
Hmmm Call me crazy but I believe the amount of war related deaths in the last 8 years is a hair larger than the previous 8. That might have a little something to do with monkey boy's idea of what makes a threat.

See Ya Suckers
The pride of Colorado bigotry, Tom Tancredo, has decided to drop his bid for the US White House.
I guess there just aren’t as many racist jerks outside of Colorado to support him as he thought. To one degree that encourages me, on another regard I regret we have the likes of him and Musgrave still out there building walls to isolate the "good people" from the brown folk.

All The News That's Fit
If you are reading this right now from the US you would not believe that there is anything in the world besides the presidential debates and GeeDub’s refusal to support sick children –I’m with him though; survival of the fittest, right?
However, here in Europe there is lots of breaking news;
-Lady Di wrote a love letter explaining to Dodi Fayed that she was giving him her dad’s cufflinks
-Mark Selby lost the world Snooker championship
-The Spice Girls comeback tour started in London last night despite Baby Spice’s wounded ankle
-Chris De Burgh is going to play in Tehran – ahh yes that Chris De Burgh.
I am sure you were terribly concerned about these things, it is up to me to pass them on.

Cars Are a Weapon Too?
Regarding the last post:
Someone made the comment to me that we don’t blame the car when a drunk driver kills someone, so why blame the gun.
No, smartass, we don’t blame the car. However, we sure as hell don’t let a bunch of drunks cruise around in cars unchecked, either, do we? The government tries to put a stop to that sort of activity.
A couple of trick questions for the NRA genius types:
How many Colorado drunk drivers went out, bought cars this weekend and drove them, on purpose, through the middle of a bunch of churches?
How many anti-social drunks in Nebraska decided to drive their car through a mall, running over random people?
Sorry, but the drunk driver analogy just doesn’t play. What else do you genius NRA types got?

NRA Blow Away
Guns don't kill people, people using guns kill people.
That is about as asinine as saying soldiers don't kill people, governments using soldiers kill people.
Is the US ever going to snap to its senses?
Maybe we are just waiting for all of our citizens to cap each other.

Peace Sells
November 26, 2007. A few of today's headlines:
Bush vows to "help facilitate" Middle East peace
Bush lends clout to Mideast peace talks
Bush renews commitment to Middle East peace process
Bush launches push for Mideast peace
Bush nudges Israelis, Palestinians toward peace
Wow, now that is what I have been waiting for, a man of "Peace" in the White House.
Remind me again who that other guy was that called Libya, Palestine and Syria part of the axis of evil. Who was that one guy? You know the one that started a war in Iraq and another in Afghanistan and said of his "enemies" "dead or alive?" Who is that guy that bullies everyone that doesn't agree with him and constantly threatens the world with his swagger and bravado? Who was that guy that approved Abu Ghraib, torture prisons in Eastern Europe and Guantanamo but says those place don't really torture anyone since none of the folks are Americans? Jeez, I forget.
I tell you what, though, this Bush fellow sure sounds like a committed proponent of peace and good will to me!

A Cat Does Not a Baby Mke.
Jenn just bought a stack of Christmas cards from one of her students. I found it fairly amusing at first especially since I just threw away about 8 boxes of unused cards from previous years.
I say "amusing at first" since after a close examination of the cards I realized she screwed me. I have forever ranted about anthropomorphizing animals, treating animals better than humans and on the rare angry days I get on a tirade about animals standing in for someone's barren loins.
The cards are innocent enough until you see the personalized inscription. "Merry Christmas from the Ewings: Dustin, Jenn and Scrounge."
Ahh, that's why I love her. She knows how to make a liar out of me.

Happy Thanksgiving from Dirt and scrounge. . .

Bright Lights Big Butts
After a month in Spain my eyes got adjusted to the light of a new perspective. At first glance everyone is so freaking beautiful. But when the glare wore off I realized it isn't that they are so glamorous as they are just not lazy slobs.
I got back into the states on Saturday; Chicago. HOLY F^@K !!! There is nobody that is going to convince me that we, the entire country, have a genetic predisposition towards obesity while the whole of Europe doesn't.
What we have are suburbs and highways. Rarely does anyone walk or bike anywhere. We sit in a car and drive. When we get "there" we sit on our collective asses waiting to turn around and head home to do some more ass-sitting in front of the TV.
I need to go for a walk with my wife.
